The purpose of this module is for learners to understand the factors that have to be considered when bricklaying work takes place on a property.
This includes the types of buildings and materials used and the era the buildings are likely to belong to.
This module also introduces learners to the environmental and sustainability considerations that relate to buildings to ensure that these factors are considered.

Including types of construction methods and wall construction:
Era building types– Victorian, Georgian, Edwardian, Elizabethan
Building materials used in each era, e.g. density of materials used
Types of buildings, residential e.g. terraced, semi-detached, detached, flats, commercial, industrial
Restoration and heritage – listed buildings and their grading
