1.4 State The Basic Patterns Used To Lay Block Paviours

Pavers Patterns 90° Herringbone
90° Herringbone

Herringbone block pavers pattern whether it’s 45° or 90° because of it interlocking pattern it is commonly used for heavy loads such as driveways as the pattern doesn’t shift.

The first few blocks laid in 45° Herringbone Pattern need to be correctly lined up, so the direction of the pattern is straight.

All sides of the paving area will have two cuts on both sides a full block paver using more cuts than the 90° herringbone pattern.

90° Herringbone Pattern, is a lot easier to set out and theirs is less waste and has long straight lines to work too.

The cuts needed are half a block paver enabling you to use the other half so there’s no waste
