As a Lecturer in Brickwork, I am responsible for creating comprehensive working drawings tailored to meet the requirements of various qualifications, with a focus on optimizing the utilization of practical spaces within the workshop at Weston College.

Additionally, I provide extensive support to candidates throughout their practical and academic endeavors, offering guidance in diverse skill sets such as CAD (Google SketchUp), instilling British values, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding and prevention measures, among others.

Learning and Career Journey

The majority of my students prefer visual learning, enjoying concise toolbox talks on specific topics.

Hence, I provide QR codes for the actual lessons and QR codes for interactive quizzes, allowing students to gauge their understanding of the toolbox talk content.

Construction Skills (6219) Level 1,2 in Brickwork

School leavers enrolled in the 6219 program embark on a pathway toward Level 1 or even Level 2 Diploma Qualifications in preparation for a career in the construction industry.

This transitional phase equips them with a range of essential skills, including but not limited to British values, safeguarding, and prevention.

Additionally, they undergo functional skills training in mathematics and English facilitated by another department.

Leveraging cutting-edge technology such as CAD programs like Google SketchUp, alongside traditional methods like scale drawings, enhances their comprehension of the construction field.

Notably, innovative approaches like utilizing 3D printers in conjunction with laser cutters to produce comprehensive 3D models from 2D assessment drawings exemplify the need for inventive thinking tailored to the unique needs of school leavers transitioning into the workforce.

The Function of This Website

Website will be designed around the construction industry mainly Multi-Trade and Brickwork as you can see by the above qualifications.

The resources for the above qualifications which has gone through centre approval by City & Guilds external verifier.

The website will be expanded to other trades and the DIY projects, this will take time as most my previous resources were done in Flash for interactivity, I am now in the process of converting it to Adobe Animate Which converts it into HTML Canvas.
