By folding the Glasspaper the correct way you will prolong the life of sandpaper and stop the two abrasive sides from rubbing together.

A standard sheet of Glasspaper measures 280×230mm we need to divide this sheet into four equal parts by forming creases.

Find a flat surface and cover with a sheet of newspaper or cloth then place the glasspaper down with the backing paper uppermost so you can see the grit size print


Step 2

Fold the backing paper from the right-hand corner to the left-hand corner forming ½ a sheet, then press down firmly on the corner you have just formed.
Then unfold and lay flat for the next step

Take the bottom part of the glass paper and fold it to the top edge forming ½ a sheet, once again press down firmly on the corner you have just formed.
Then unfold and lay flat for the next step

With the Glasspaper laid flat rip or cut on the bottom half of the backing paper.

Taking the right-hand side quarter of the sheet folded over so it’s in line with the top edge forming three-quarters of the sheet.

Fold over the right-hand quarter of the sheet to the left side forming half a sheet.

Step 6

In the final fold the top quarter of the sheet down to the bottom edge forming ¼ of the sheet

Step 7

You will notice that all grit side are always in contact with the backing paper and you should and up with a pad size of 70x57mm approximately.
Custom sanding blocks can be made to accommodate the size.

To reinforce Glasspaper follow the sequence of photographs above, firstly choose the right grit size that you wish to reinforce.

Line up duct tape to each edge of the Glasspaper and apply tape and removing any air bubbles.

Once both edges are completed you will probably find that you need to put duct tape through the centre of the Glasspaper backing not forgetting to remove any air bubbles.

Trim both ends of Glasspaper using scissors or with a craft knife, when using a craft knife make sure that you put the Glasspaper onto a cutting board and is cut away from you.
